Castle Combe Spring Action Day 27th April 2013

Petrol head heaven, and more fun than should really be aloud.
Respect to the many that were out there trying lap after lap and also the few that found getting home difficult after parking into the armco.
Also a big favourite on the day was the Drift demo boys that really do like a show, and only one really bad crash that stopped the fun in one Skyline.
Most have got away with minor injurys, or little touches of the barriers but nothing too bad. After all as i was told by one driver, they are built to be used and some repair is inevitable, after all they look better with criss cross cable ties anyway.

A few pictures of the car park, which was almost as good. Excellent turnout from the owners clubs and even with the weather not being the best, it was still a good day.

Tow Bars

So how can it be so expensive to fit a single electric tow bar to a car these days, after all there 1000's of Caravans out there and the queue on the way into the tip on a sunday morning tells me that there is still enough trailers in the world.
Now i run a 59 plate Passat Est, as pictured below
Now nothing special about it really, the previous owner wasn't very good at parking and because of this there are a few marks around the old girl but its an excellent work horse and excellent on fuel.

So to cut a very long story short, the worst price was nearly 2k and the best was £600.
Goes without saying that the worst price was a main dealer.

Now at this point i gave up, thinking that there's clearly a reason behind why there expensive and as the mileage is creeping up, it will only be with me till the middle of next year at the latest, i thought until today there's little point and leave it.
Then spotted out the blue on TowSure web site, they are doing the same towbar with single electrics fitted for £239.70.
Why couldn't i have spotted this a year ago when i got the car as now its less than a year too replacement and i have to say the idea of putting one on now seems daft.

Always pays to shop around slightly.

Mini Moto

This thing is rapid, and because of the way it delivers its power, there's no easy way of riding it. Never seen a front sprocket as small, so gearing is clearly key on this type of machine.
Have, mainly because they fit, given it too the boys. Let them have a play and see what fun they can have.
Sad fact is its the only Motorbike to be in the shed for a while and as things are, possibly the only one for a while.

Fun machine, although we need to work on our throttle response, kids seem to attach everything with throttle wide open and if we aren't careful it's going to end badly.

Mobile Blog App

It's only a long shot, but after using the online version, I've now downloaded the mobile phone app for iPhone 5 and if this works I'm loving it.
The only problem from what I can see so far is having to type on the phone and I'm rubbish at doing that quickly and spelling is never been a strong point so I'm at the mercy of apple products spell check.

Will try and use and also do a post with pictures to try and see how useful it is.

Dubs at the Mill (DATM)

Credit where its due, there isn't enough fun things done these days. Its great to find some passion about anything and when there's beer involved then this can only be better
Give this even a try and you might like it.

What am i to do with this?

Now this might seem weird as a 41year old man, but i picked this little beauty up last week as spotted in a facebook for sale page.
Various people jumped on it but the lady on the other end of the messages said i was the first so off i went.
As look would have it i was driving past her door on the way home, and for the grand sum of £50 she was mine. It wasn't till i got it home that i really thought about what the hell i was going to do with it. First idea was maybe i could balance myself on there but as i am the wrong size for this as is most adults, it was decided that the kids could look after it and keep the wheels turning.
Now flash backs to Quad accident last year but after some thinking i let the boy on it for a little play. First blast, throttle flat out and that was the end of his first go. He did get back on and play with the throttle a little but declined to have another go.
So big question is do i continue with what is so obvious to all, a mispent youth or should i just give up and wait for them to get older?
